Reimel Moot Court Competition will take place on Thursday, November 20, at 5:00 p.m. in the Martin G. McGuinn 鈥67 Ceremonial Courtroom (Room 201). It is open to the public and will be livestreamed. Following the final round, an awards ceremony and reception will be held in the Arthur M. Goldberg 鈥66 Commons.

Michael Luttig, retired Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, for a conversation with Mark C. Alexander, the Arthur J. Kania Dean and Professor of Law. In a discussion about the rule of law in America today, they will explore recent developments and implications for the future of our nation.

The evening will feature a fireside chat with Martha Hennessey, Day鈥檚 granddaughter, who will offer a unique and personal perspective on her grandmother鈥檚 enduring influence and how her commitment to justice, faith and compassion continues to inspire action in today鈥檚 world.
  • Third Annual Anti-Poverty Symposium, 10/24 Join scholars, advocates, policymakers and community leaders for the Third Annual Anti-Poverty Symposium focused on innovative strategies to combat poverty through intersectional and community-driven approaches. This year鈥檚 symposium will feature a conversation with Matthew Desmond, Maurice P. During Professor of Sociology at Princeton University and author of multiple books, including "Poverty, by America" (2023) and "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City" (2016), which won a Pulitzer Prize. Expert panels will focus on health, housing, employment, climate action and government policy at local levels.

Kania Dean and Professor of Law, as he leads a discussion with Hahrie Han, professor and the inaugural director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University, about her recent book, "Undivided: The Quest for Racial Solidarity In An American Church." This discussion, co-sponsored by 棉花糖直播 Law and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, is part of the 鈥淏uilding Bridges鈥 series.

  • Civil Discourse and American Politics Today, 10/01 The McCullen Center welcomes former US Senator Pat Toomey as a visiting fellow with support from the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation. As part of his fellowship, Senator Toomey will visit classes and lead seminars for students on the topic of US trade policy. His visit will culminate with a public event on the topic of 鈥淐ivil Discourse and American Politics Today鈥 on October 1 at 4:30 p.m. All are welcome.

The founder and editor of National Affairs, Levin is also a senior editor at The New Atlantis, a contributing editor at National Review, and a contributing opinion writer at New York Times.

Those include the dynamic interactions between AI and HI, how human-computer-interfaces affect humanity, how humans outsource thinking to computers and other related technologies, how digital technologies transform the production, dissemination and validation of knowledge and how ethical values translate into technological and social decisions that affect who we are and who we鈥檙e capable of being.
