GROUP FITNESS

棉花糖直播 offers our faculty, staff and students the benefit of group fitness classes including spinning, yoga, zumba, and pilates. All group fitness classes (except Reformer Pilates) will be held in Canon Hall at The Commons. 

 

Fall 2025 Group Fitness Schedule

Registration, Pricing, Class Descriptions and Booking
 

*For Fall 2025, Registration for Reformers Pilates only will be available via . The registration form will go live on Monday, Aug 25 at 6pm.

General group fitness classes will have in-person registration - see below for more details. 

  • Registration for Fall 2025 general group fitness classes will be held on Tues (8/26), Weds (8/27), and Thurs (8.28) from 12PM-2PM and 4-6PM each day in the Canon Hall group fitness facility.    
  • During registration, you must have your payment ready. Payment can only be cash, check, or wildcard. NO credit cards. 
  • You will also have to sign a waiver. Waiver form document is provided below. 
    • If you are registering a friend, you must have their payment and waiver ready at registration.
    • After registration you will receive an email with instructions on how to enroll in a class.
  • If you cannot attend in-person registration, please email keith.lowery@villanova.edu to register (this will be on a rolling basis). 
  • Packages purchased must be used in the semester they are bought (in this case, Fall 2025). They will not carry over if you have any unused. 
  • Refunds will only be accepted for 24 hours after payment is complete and the package is unused.
  • You can purchase more classes at any point of the semester at the front desk of Canon.
  • If a class is canceled due to inclement weather, there will be no make-up class.

Small Group Reformer Pilates Classes

Fall 2025 reformers pilates class pricing will be made available in mid-August.

Refunds are only valid 24 hours after a package is purchased and it must be unused.

Additional exercise classes can be purchased anytime during the semester at the Canon Group Fitness Studio during normal operating hours using NovaBucks.

20-20-20 (Cardio, Strength, Yoga)

20-minute bursts of cardio, strength and yoga mixed into one class.

Core Cycle (Spin & Weights)

30-minutes of spin and 30-minutes of weight training. This class gives you the best of both worlds by achieving your cardio and strength workout in one shot.

Gentle Yoga

This hatha practice offers a combination of gentle, yin and restorative asanas in an inviting, peaceful environment as you unwind from your day. Gentle classes provide a chance to slow down and include extended time for meditation, yogic breathwork and relaxation while offering a deep stretch of the connective tissues for the body.

Mat Pilates

A mat based class designed to increase flexibility, core strength and toning. We will be developing an awareness of breath and spine alignment to strengthen the deep torso muscles and increase fluidity and control of the body.

Power Yoga

A high-intensity, calorie-burning class that combines the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of yoga. Power yoga builds strength flexibility, focus and endurance while connecting breath with movement.

Rhythmic Spin

Rhythmic Spin offers a fun way to spin to the beat of the music. You will be "dancing" on the bike as well as challenging yourself through intervals, sprints and hills climbs.

Spin

Utilizing a stationary bike, this indoor cycling class is designed for all fitness levels. Classes focus on drills that build power and endurance on the bike and brief, high-intensity bursts that push past your anaerobic threshold to increase your cycling power all while having fun. 

Vinyasa Yoga

A class that combines the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of yoga. Vinyasa yoga builds strength, flexibility, focus and endurance while connecting breath with movement. Choose between a dynamic paced "Strong Flow" working core strength, or a gentler 鈥淪low Flow鈥 spending less time on the hands in poses.

Slow Flow Vinyasa Yoga

This class combines the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of yoga in a slower-paced format. Gentle transitions and longer holds allow for deeper breath awareness and less time spent on the hands, making it ideal for those seeking a mindful, grounding practice. Slow Flow helps build flexibility, focus, and balance while reducing stress and tension.

Strong Flow Vinyasa Yoga

A dynamic and energizing class that connects breath with movement to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and focus. Strong Flow emphasizes core engagement and more time in weight-bearing poses, offering a challenging practice for those looking to push their limits. This class delivers both the physical intensity and the calming benefits of yoga in one invigorating experience.

Vin-Yin Yoga

Explore the balance of opposites in this combination Vinyasa and Yin class. Where Vinyasa is the Yang high flowing energy, Yin brings a slower energy with passive floor stretches. The Yin and Yang come together to warm the body then allow access to the deeper connective tissue and fascia, restoring balance to the mind and body. All levels welcome and encouraged to explore. Challenges and modifications provided as needed.

Zumba

The Zumba workout provides calorie-burning fitness routines through upbeat Latin and urban dance moves. The routines use intervals of fast and slow rhythms to burn fat while toning and sculpting the body.

Cardio Interval

Cardio Interval Workout blends the fun, high-energy rhythms of Zumba with intervals of strength training for a full-body workout. This class offers a great mix of cardio and toning, targeting both the upper and lower body to keep you moving and feeling strong.

Boxing-Fit

Boxing-Fit is a high-energy class that combines boxing techniques with high-intensity interval training for a full-body workout. You'll partner up to practice punch combinations on focus pads, building power, coordination, and teamwork. Between rounds, cardio and strength intervals keep your heart rate up and your body challenged from start to finish.

Body Toning

Body Toning is a full-body workout designed to sculpt and strengthen your muscles using light weights, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises. This class targets key areas like arms, legs, glutes, and core to help you build lean muscle and improve overall definition. Whether you're a beginner or looking to level up your routine, Body Toning offers a fun and effective way to get stronger and feel more confident.

 

Once you鈥檝e purchased a group fitness package with a member of the Recreation Staff, you will receive an email from 棉花糖直播 Recreation (external email from services@mail.EZFacility.com) inviting you to register for self service. You may need to check your spam/junk folder for the second email. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Accept the invitation
  2. Create a username and password, then select register
  3. On the left-hand side select 鈥淏ook Sessions鈥
  4. Click the class(es) you want to attend and select book

You have two weeks up until the class begins to add a class. You have 12 hours up until the class starts to drop it.

  • All classes are open for faculty, staff, and students. Friends of 棉花糖直播 can register for Reformer Pilates only.
  • Classes will serve on a first come, first serve basis based upon booking through EZFacility. Once the max amount of people (30 for group exercise room, 25 for spin, and 5 for reformer pilates) enters the room, no other participants will be allowed to enter.
  • It is recommended to arrive between 10-15 minutes early to class for check in.
  • No food or drinks (besides water) are allowed in the group exercise rooms. 

Group fitness classes can be cancelled without charge up to 12 hours in advance via EZFacility.

If you are unable to cancel within the 12-hour window, please contact Keith Lowery at keith.lowery@villanova.edu to request a late cancellation. Please note that a late cancellation will deduct a session from your package.
