The VUnited Scholars program proudly offers the Summer Scholars Experience, a supportive and engaging college prep opportunity for young adults ages 18–22.Ìý
VUnited Summer Scholars is a weeklong camp where students can get a glimpse of the college experience. Living on ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s beautiful campus for seven days, students will strengthen independent living skills, explore career interests, contribute through community service, enjoy fun and enriching experiences, and build lasting, meaningful connections.ÌýÌý
Summer Scholars will stay in ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ dorms with guidance and support from trained mentors, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.ÌýÌý
Throughout the week, students engage in hands-on learning, explore their career goals, and participate fully in campus life.Ìý
Designed for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, this program empowers participants to grow personally, socially, and academically in a vibrant and welcoming college setting.Ìý

Learning Goals:

- Cultivate independent living skills on a college campus in a supportive and structured setting.Ìý
- Strengthen essential career skills through hands-on learning and guided workshopsÌý
- Focus on health and wellness by participating in fitness, mindfulness, and healthy living routines.
- Build campus life confidence and social skills through meaningful peer interaction.Ìý
- Practice safety and decision making in real- life situations that promote independence and responsible choices.
- Serve the wider community through civic engagement and a service-learning opportunity.Ìý
- Engage in fun, enriching off-campus trip for immersive learning experience.Ìý
